Why is the module ID so important?

The module ID is the technical name of a module and is always unique in a smap (each module ID can only exist once). It serves as a reference

  • for accessing modules in formulas and value transfers,
  • for assigning the data to the modules in the data view and in reports,
  • for accessing modules and their data in the smapOne RESTful API.

It is of enormous advantage to use self-explanatory/self-describing module IDs, since it simplifies the referencing of the corresponding module in the areas mentioned. This is especially true for particularly large or complex smaps.
